Casual Grievance Settlement

On Thursday Jan 12th, 2023 the Nova Scotia Community College Academic Union (NSCCAU) and the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) reached a settlement regarding a Grievance filed by the NSCCAU.

The Grievance originally filed on February 25th, 2022, raised concerns regarding the College hiring casual Faculty whereas they should be classified as Faculty under the Collective Agreement.

The grievance was referred to an arbitrator when an earlier settlement proposal did not reach agreement.

The parties agreed to settle the Grievance on Thursday January 12th. With this settlement the NSCCAU will withdraw the Grievance.
