NSCCAU Celebrates the International Transgender Day of Visibility

Dear Members,

Today March 31st is International Transgender Day of Visibility.

The International Transgender Day of Visibility recognizes the struggles, sacrifices and achievements of those who fought, and continue to fight, for gender equity. March 31st is dedicated to celebrating transgender people, raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender and non-binary people and advocating for more protected rights for these individuals.

Transgender Canadians are more likely to report poor or fair mental health and suicidal thoughts. Gender identity and expression are important to an individual’s well-being. This day is about promoting change and inclusion.

Transgender, non-binary and gender diverse people are valued members of our community and communities worldwide.

Let us celebrate a world in which everyone can live their lives as their true authentic self.

The College has partnered with both NSCCAU and NSGEU to advance NSCC’s Mental Health & Wellness Strategy. If you are experiencing any distress, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
