NSCCAU 2021 Professional Development Opportunities
The NSCCAU is pleased to announce 2021 Professional Development Opportunities and to award annually up to $5,000.00 in grant funding to eligible members of NSCCAU.
The following grant opportunities are available to members:
· In-Province Professional Development Grant (shall not exceed $500.00 in funding)
· Out-of-Province Professional Development Grant (shall not exceed $1,000.00 in funding)
Both the In-Province and Out-of-Province Professional Development Grants can be used for the following opportunities:
· Conferences
· Courses
· Workshops
· Skill-based training
· On-line courses
Grant Eligibility
To be eligible, the individual must be an active member of the NSCCAU at the time of application. Active members of the NSCCAU include the Faculty and Professional Support Bargaining Units as defined in the NSCCAU Collective Agreements.
Grant Application Deadlines
All applications must be submitted to Rankin MacMaster, Vice-President Member Engagement, for review by the Executive Committee before the following deadlines:
· Intake One: February 28th, 2021 (for training from January 2021 - July 2021)
· Intake Two: September 29th, 2021 (for training from August 2021 - December 2021)

Selection Process
Grants are awarded and reviewed by the NSCCAU Executive Committee.
Applications shall be reviewed according to the following criteria:
• How this Professional Development opportunity would enhance your professional growth and/or education
• Remuneration from other sources and expenses incurred may be considered when determining the amount awarded.
After completion of Professional Development opportunities, successful grant recipients will be required to write a brief report on the value of their learning experience and submit this to the Executive Committee.
